Simple Surprises

On our first Valentine's Day, my boyfriend and I were both in college. I was in nursing school, and the fact we live 2 hours from each other didn't help. I wasn't expecting very much, because I knew I wouldn't be able to see him. That day, I had class until about 6:30 p.m., and I spent the whole day wondering if anything would happen. After talking to my best friend about it, I told her all I wanted was just to be able to see him. She told me she had emailed him, and he told her he had a surprise for me, but he wasn't going to be able to come see me because he had basketball practice (he coached for a high school team). I was so sad by that, but accepted thefact that I would have to wait to see him. When I got to class, I wanted to skip out early, but my friends insisted that there was going to be a delivery and that I stay or I would miss it. Of course I stayed. However, by the time class was over, there was nothing. They told me I had to wait or I'd really miss it. Well, we waited for about forty-five minutes and I was getting anxious. All of the sudden, a car pulled into the parking lot and I realized it was him. I was completely speechless! I ran over to him, nearly floating. That was the greatest Valentine's Day thus far, just because I got to see him, and I had no clue!
